Birds & Blooms Subscription

Yesterday, I found a great deal on Birds & Blooms magazine - 12 monthly issues for only $15.

I have heard of this magazine a long time ago. When I was looking through the site, it seems it is all about things I am interested in: birding, backyard gardens, DIY projects. I have been feeding the birds for years. I grew cherry tomatoes last year and this year want to expand. And well, I am more of a looker at DIY but enjoy that kind of content too.

Eggz

One of the weirdest things (to me) was the price gouging that has been going on with eggs. Previously, I would not have cared but I have returned to eating eggs after years of shunning them for being "bad food."  πŸ₯š

#MurdaughTrial - It's the Defense's Turn

Actually, the defense got started on Friday of last week but we had a long weekend to wait since yesterday was a court holiday. The defense continued today and we got to see Buster Murdaugh, the surviving son, take the stand. His testimony wasn't as exciting as "Courties"  were hoping it would be. After, it was very dry witnesses with talk of measurements for most of the day.

I cannot figure out where they are going with this. I was also expecting some exciting testimony. And I was hoping that it would be from Cousin Eddie. So far, not one peep about him testifying. Dick Harpootlian (one of Murdaugh's lawyers) stated first thing that he expected to rest their case on Friday of this week. I am hoping tomorrow and the rest of the week, the defense brings on some better testimony or I believe the jurors may fall asleep.

But things did start out this morning on a rather silly note with Jim Griffin, one of the two main defense lawyers, admitting to a Twitter post and then promising the judge there would not be any more while the trial was ongoing. You would think that his firm or he himself over lunch or a break would have deleted it, but no it is still up on his Twitter account.

Tomorrow will definitely be interesting due to Netflix's new limited series on the murders entitled A Southern Scandal. I have my reminder set - not that I need it 😁

February 20th: President's Day

I am so not a political person. Not my whole life and I doubt I ever will be. That said...
No matter what good or bad any one president does, some people will raise it up higher than is true and some will drag it through the mud deeper than dirt. The truth is kinda sketchy, at all times.

I would never want to be president.
I would fail at going to meetings and kissing up to the other country's leaders. I would use my outside voice too much with the reporters and chat up the wrong people at the swanky dinners. I would take care of the old people and take away from the young and able-bodied (here's to making welfare.... well, fair). The rich people would be my elite hater group and yep, I reckon it would be a hot mess.

But seriously, I would never want to be president.
It is a job where you never satisfy people. And a job where you affect so many people's lives. Often negatively.

Regular School (Work) Day for me today.

Munch of Law & Order Dies at 78

Richard Belzer, Extraordinarily Smart-Ass as a Comic and a TV Cop, Dies at 78

This is the headline of The Hollywood Reporter article. I knew him only as Munch on Law & Order. I remember it so long ago that I first watched that show and felt he was the driving force behind it.

Spanish Genders

I'm still doing Duolingo... so far I haven't missed any days.

This evening - I am puzzled about why pan (bread) is male (el pan) and milk (leche) is female (la leche).

Raquel Welch

Raquel Welch died today. She was 82 years old. But she never ever looked her age. She was a beautiful lady. I had no clue of the huge amount of appearances she did until I was looking at her IMdb profile
